What happens, step by step

Arrival and registration — 5 min

You give contact details and a medical history — current medications, allergies, past treatments, any autoimmune condition. About five minutes. Staff can assist in Thai, English, Japanese and Chinese; ask for the language you want when you book and it is arranged for the visit, not improvised on the day.

The consultation itself — 15–30 min

The doctor examines your facial anatomy and skin in person — not from a photograph — and asks what actually bothers you. Fifteen to thirty minutes, and it is free. Expect to be told which of your concerns is volume loss, which is laxity and which is skin quality, because they are different problems with different answers, and expect to be told plainly if something you asked for is not what you need.

The price, before anything is opened — 5 min

You are given the total before treatment starts, itemised — how many units or syringes or threads, at what price each. That figure is what you pay; nothing is added during the treatment. Published starting prices are on the pricing page, and the consultation is where they become a plan. There is no pressure to decide on the day, and going away to think about it is a normal outcome of a consultation.

What is opened in front of you

The syringe, vial or thread packet is opened in front of you. One unit per patient — nothing shared, nothing kept for a later appointment. The outer box, lot number and expiry date can be photographed before it is opened. This is the one piece of evidence that cannot be prepared in advance, and you are entitled to look at it.

Before you leave

Aftercare instructions are given verbally and sent to you in writing, in your own language — Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, Malay or another on request — rather than as a Thai form to translate later. Any follow-up is booked before you go: typically a two-week review after botulinum toxin, and the full series scheduled in advance for treatments given as a course.

After you fly home

Who do I contact if something does not look right after I get home?

The doctor who treated you reviews them; the reply is not a script from a call centre. What if I need to be seen, and I am no longer in Thailand?

Most post-treatment questions — swelling, bruising, asymmetry in the first weeks, a lump that is settling — are answered from photographs and a description, and the honest answer is often that it is early and will change. Where it cannot be settled remotely the doctor will say so and tell you what a local doctor should look for and what to tell them, in writing. Whether any further treatment is appropriate, and what it would cost, is decided at that assessment rather than promised in advance — a clinic that guarantees a free revision before it has seen the problem is guessing.

How long should I stay in Bangkok after treatment?

Ask this at the consultation, before you book flights, because it depends on what you have done. Energy devices and injectables are generally same-day; thread work involves swelling for a few days. The useful question is not "when can I fly" but "when would you want to see me again" — and if the answer means staying, it is better to know while the return flight is still changeable.
