Ultraformer MPT is the latest micro & macro focused ultrasound (MMFU) platform from Classys — the company behind the world-leading Ultraformer III, installed in more than 8,000 clinics across 60+ countries. The "MPT" stands for Micro Pulsed Technology, and it is the single biggest change to how focused-ultrasound lifting is delivered. This guide explains what that actually means for your treatment.
How conventional HIFU works — and its limitation
Focused ultrasound lifting works by depositing tiny points of heat — called thermal coagulation points (TCP) — deep under the skin, at the same SMAS layer a surgeon would lift. Each point triggers the body to contract tissue immediately and build new collagen over the following months.
Conventional HIFU lays these points relatively far apart: about 17 points along a 25 mm treatment line. The gaps between points mean the heat — and therefore the lifting stimulus — is not evenly distributed.
What Micro Pulsed (MP) mode changes
In MP mode, Ultraformer MPT lays 417 thermal points within that same 25 mm line — roughly 25× denser than conventional HIFU. Three things follow from that density:
- A smoother, more even lift. Because the points are packed closely together, the collagen stimulus is continuous rather than dotted.
- Less pain. The energy is delivered as *accumulated heat* across many micro-points rather than as a few high-intensity single shots. Most patients describe MP mode as a warm tingling rather than the sharp "zap" of older HIFU.
- Faster treatment. An MP-mode shot completes in about 0.42 seconds versus 1.1 seconds for a conventional dot shot. Over a 500-shot session that is the difference between roughly 4.5 minutes and 13.5 minutes of active treatment.
The four delivery modes
Ultraformer MPT lets the doctor switch instantly between modes on the touchscreen:
- Normal mode — 17 points per shot, for targeted conventional HIFU.
- MP mode — 417 points per shot, for dense, comfortable area lifting.
- Circular Normal / Circular MP — delivered through the Ultra-Booster pen-type circular handpiece, used as a finishing step to boost glow and tighten delicate or curved areas.
Ten cartridges, three handpieces
Where Ultraformer III had 7 cartridges, MPT has 10 interchangeable cartridges spanning 1.5 mm to 13.0 mm:
- 1.5 / 2.0 / 3.0 mm — superficial dermis and fine lines (forehead, eyes, around the mouth).
- 4.5 mm — the SMAS layer for true lifting of jowls, cheeks and jawline.
- 6.0 / 9.0 / 13.0 mm — deeper cartridges that reach subcutaneous fat for non-surgical body contouring (abdomen, arms, thighs).
The MMFU design combines micro-focused points (0.25 mm) for precision with macro-focused points (0.5 mm) for volume coverage.
What it treats
Brow and forehead, hooded eyes and "Foxy Eyes", cheek and nasolabial lift, jowls and jawline, double chin, neck bands, and body contouring. Results show an immediate tightening effect, with collagen remodelling peaking at 2-3 months and lasting 9-15 months — longer than Ultraformer III thanks to the denser TCP coverage.
