Ellansé is a polycaprolactone (PCL) biostimulator: microspheres suspended in a carboxymethylcellulose carrier gel. The gel gives structure on the day it is injected; the PCL microspheres then stimulate the body to lay down its own type I collagen while the polymer is slowly metabolised. What separates Ellansé from the other biostimulators here is that it gives structure on the day of treatment — Sculptra gives none until collagen builds — and does it in a single session rather than a three-session course. Ellansé is a deep-plane product. It is placed supraperiosteally or in deep subcutaneous fat to give structure over bone, and it is not a superficial skin-quality treatment. It is not used in the lips or the tear trough.

The limitation that matters more than price: PCL is not enzymatically reversible. Hyaluronidase dissolves hyaluronic acid filler within a day or two; it has no effect whatsoever on Ellansé. The polymer is metabolised on its own schedule, which is exactly the schedule you chose when you chose the grade. That cuts both ways — a placement you are happy with lasts three years, and so does one you are not. Three honest ones. First, it is not reversible: hyaluronidase dissolves HA filler but does nothing to PCL, so a result you dislike stays until the material metabolises. Second, that duration cuts both ways — the same 18 months that makes a good result worth having also applies to a bad one. Third, it is a deep-plane product only; placed too superficially it can produce visible or palpable nodules, which is the most commonly reported complication with PCL fillers. It is also not suitable for lips or the tear trough. None of this makes it a bad product — it makes it a product where the injector matters more than the brand.
The common reactions are the ordinary injection ones — swelling, bruising and tenderness for a few days. The complication specific to this class is nodule formation, which can appear early from superficial placement or, less often, later as a delayed inflammatory nodule; published case reports describe onset months after treatment. Because PCL cannot be dissolved, nodules are managed medically over time rather than reversed on the day. Risk is reduced by deep placement, conservative volume, staged sessions and sterile technique. Ellansé is polycaprolactone (PCL): structure on the day from the carrier gel plus collagen stimulation afterwards, in a single session, with duration set by grade. If you want gradual and do not mind waiting, Sculptra. If you want structure now and want to choose how long it lasts, Ellansé. Neither can be dissolved. They are four different materials and conflating them is the most common mistake. Ellansé is PCL — immediate structure plus collagen, duration chosen by grade. Sculptra is PLLA — gradual collagen, the longest-established of the group. Rejuran is polynucleotide (PN) from salmon DNA — skin repair and quality, not volume. Juvelook is PDLLA — a skin booster with a collagen-stimulating component. In Chinese these are 少女针, 童颜针, 婴儿针 and 素颜针 respectively; the names get mixed up constantly, and they are not interchangeable.
Ellansé-S holds roughly 18 months. The manufacturer makes longer grades (M, L and E) that hold two, three and four years, but they are not available in Thailand, so 18 months is what can actually be offered here. Individual results vary.
